Brief Personal Statement

As a Registered Social Worker and Clinical Traumatologist I specialize in providing supportive counselling and therapy to children, youth and families. My background has been primarily working in Community Mental Health Organizations with children, youth, adults and families and most recently in a hospital environment with an adolescent population.   In addition to this, I have had the opportunity to work overseas and experience working with people from all backgrounds and cultures in various environments.

Individual Practice

Practice Approach

Having worked with many children, youth and families over the last several years I have had the opportunity to see people have the strength, resilience and skill to meet their goals and I can help you find answers for change for yourself, your child and for your family.  I believe that working together we can build on existing strengths and skills to make positive life changes.  Each approach will be tailored to your individual needs and designed with your goal in mind.

The therapeutic approaches that I use are based on client goals by drawing on individual and family strengths, building on existing skills and developing new strategies and coping mechanisms using the following evidence based interventions.

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
  • Trauma Therapy
  • Short Term Counselling
  • Narrative Therapy
  • Positive Parenting
  • Single Session Counselling
  • Crisis and Safety Planning
