When Your Counselor Is Not A Good Fit
What if it doesn’t work with the first counselor I meet?
You are always in control of your own therapeutic process.
If you feel the fit with the counsellor you have selected is not good, that you do not feel comfortable with your counselor for any reason, or simply want to try a different approach you can stop at any time. We encourage you to try again with another therapist if the first one did not turn out to be a good fit, as we believe that a good trauma therapist can help you find ways to recover and begin to engage in your life in a meaningful way.
It might not be easy to find the best fit right away, but as in all things, a good relationship is definitely worth the effort and the wait.
