As an individual and couple therapist, a few areas that I commonly work with are trauma, which may result in a need to develop better self-confidence, communication skills training, creating satisfying relationships, relief of anxiety, fears or depression, goal setting and change, resolving relationship conflicts, fear of intimacy and attachment issues. My approach to treatment begins with the initial phone contact where we can discuss your goals for therapy. This is followed by an initial assessment which might include several visits in order to establish a relationship of trust. I am certified in several methods of trauma treatment, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) which is currently the top treatment for psychological trauma recognized by the American Psychiatric Association, Department of Defense, and Department of Veterans Affairs.
